AFHRA nasce da un progetto di Monica Chiozzi.

Alla fine degli anni ’80, in un periodo di grande fermento per la moda made in Italy, Monica affianca gli studi nell’ ambito della conservazione dei beni artistico-culturali alle prime esperienze nel campo della moda. Per un decennio concentra il suo interesse nell’ambito della pelletteria d’alta gamma, lavorando come designer per il marchio Borbonese e come responsabile di collezione per gli accessori in pelle di moltissimi brand.

Successivamente collabora con Tod’s dal 2001 al 2016 in maniera sempre più importante. Il DNA del brand diventa un terreno dal quale parte per costruire progetti dal design nitido e dallo chic sobrio, pensati per donne di ogni età e nazionalità. La sfida principale è riuscire a coniugare brand heritage, timeless attitude e femminilità.

Nel settembre 2016 in concomitanza con la presentazione della stagione Spring-Summer 2017 nasce la collezione Afhra. Il marchio riprende il nome della nonna di Monica e vuol essere al tempo stesso un tributo all’Africa sognata da bambina e amata da adulta.

The late '80s were a period of great turmoil for fashion made in Italy. During that time Monica combined her studies regarding the conservation of artistic and cultural heritage with the earliest experiences of fashion. For a decade, she focused mainly in the field of high-end leather goods, working as a designer for Borbonese and as a collection coordinator for leather accessories of many other brands.
She later begun working with Tod's from 2001 to 2016, her work rapidly increasing with importance. The DNA of the brand became a starting point to build crisp and soberly chic projects designed for women of all ages and nationalities. The main challenge was to combine heritage brand, timeless attitude and femininity.
In September 2016 to coincide with the presentation of the Spring-Summer 2017 season, comes the Afhra collection. The brand is named after Monica's grandmother and wants to be a tribute to that same Africa that she dreamt of as a child and loved as an adult.
